Analysis and Plan
I’m still on Neuro placement and starting to bring it together. From an early stage I think we all got a little frustrated with the expectation of a long analysis/problem list and plan whatever placement we were on. As we started to go through clinics we saw the time pressures and the amount of time PT’s had to write notes and thought “how could they possibly write a full A and P like we are expected to”. Well they have probably done A and P lists so many times its automatic in their head. This is what my supervisor suggested would be the case for most PT’s. In the last couple of weeks I have realised that after you have written a few A and P lists for one of the particular core areas it does come more planned in your mind. So I have found the continual requests to write full SOAPIER’s initially frustrating but also very helpful. I have found that it makes my treatment sessions more focused and efficient because I have my goals for the session very clear. So hopefully some others can appreciate the inconvenience as I have but are also able to see the benefits.
